At the beginning there was an innovative idea In spring 2002 an idea of a collection based on ecological and ethical consumption was born. Mother of HOPE, Seija Lukkala gathered a team of innovative designers to create a new way of operating. The starting point to the concept was a growing worry of the increasing amount of waste in the world. The idea was to carry out in practise something that would support the sustainable development and at the same time feed human's longing for aesthetic. The first collection of HOPE in Spring 2003 was born by redesigning and modifying already existing materials such as old hospital textiles, army wear and work outfits, by using old in the creation of new. The reception of the collection went beyond all anticipations. Hope to the world Hope found out that there was a great demand for ecological products in the fashion business all around the world. Young people had been waiting for such environmentally friendly clothes that look and feel good. The team soon got reinforcements and in June 2003 a new innovative Finnish design company Globe Hope was founded.
